The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured an interim forfeiture of the sum of fromN1,000,494,000 (One Billion, Four Hundred and Ninety Four Thousand Naira) only. The order was granted by Justice Lewis Allagoa of the Federal High Court sitting in Kano.The forfeiture was as a result of a motion exparte filed by the Commission seeking for the interim forfeiture of the sum of N1,000,494,000 (One Billion Four and Ninety Four Thousand Naira) only found hidden away in the bank account of MAGEL RESORT LIMITED, a company linked to the former first lady of Nigeria, Patience Jonathan.The EFCC received an intelligence alleging that a bank account domiciled in Fidelity Bank, was said to have stored huge sum of money that is not being used by anybody.Upon receipt of the intelligence, the Commission swung into action by conducting preliminary investigation which revealed that the former first lady and some relatives of the former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan are Directors of the Company.Others named as directors of the company are Oba Oba Tamunotonye, Goodluck Jonathan Aruera, Goodluck Jonathan Ariwabai and Esther Fynface.While tracing the origin of the money, it was discovered that N500, 000 (Five Hundred Thousand Naira) was deposited on the 20th May, 2015 by Esther Fynface, who is alleged to be in charge of the company while N1,000,000,000 (One Billion Naira) only was transferred in two tranches on the 25th May, 2015 from PAGMAT OIL AND GAS NIGERIA LIMITED a company that is not incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission.The court order reads that: "An interim forfeiture order is granted to the Federal Government in the sum of N1,000,494,000 (One Billion, Four Hundred and Ninety Four Thousand Naira) only in the Bank account of the 1st respondent MAGEL RESORT LIMITED 4011019546 which is maintained with 2nd respondent Fidelity Bank Plc".The court further ordered that the forfeited sum be deposited in the Treasury Single Account of the Federal Government.The post Court Orders Forfeiture of N1.04bn Abandoned In the Bank appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.Caption this photo of President Buhari and Kano State governor, Umar Ganduje

A cunning French teenager has been jailed after buying a PlayStation 4, which usually costs about £300, for under £8 by weighing it on a fruit scale and paying at the self-service till.Adel, 19, picked the games console off the shelf in a supermarket in Montbeliard, eastern France, last September. He then took it to the fruit and vegetable section where he then bagged it and placed it on the electronic scale.It weighed 6 pounds and he put a sticker with the price tag on the device and went to the self-checkout. There, Adel paid £7.86 for the 6lb bag of ‘fruit’ at a self-checkout till.After fraudulently purchasing the game console, the teen went on to sell it for £87.43 to pay for a train ticket to his home town of Nice, in south-eastern France, L’Est Republicain reported.Adel would have got away with it if he had not returned to the same shop the next day to try to carry out the scam again.He was arrested and charged with theft, but did not appear in court for the hearing. Magistrates in Montbeliard sentenced him to four months in prison. Nollywood actor, Babatunde Bernard Tayo popularly called Baba Tee's second marriage has crashed. His wife, Dupe Odulate confirmed the news moments ago in an Instagram post to celebrate her birthday where she said, 'myself and Baba Tee are no more together'. Baba Tee went on one knee back in December 2015 when he proposed to Dupe just a few weeks after his first marriage to his UK based lover, Yetunde Bustline Oduwole crashed. 
Dupe in her instagram post today went on to say, 'Dear Lord, condemn those that condemns me secretly and openly. Walk in my shoes, know what I go through before you judge me. Apologies to those that I have offended because of this guy. Now I understand better. Life goes on, I cannot come and die. Be a man and say the truth'.
