The Nigerian Senate has instructed its Committee on Police Affairs to investigate the alleged assassination attempt on the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu, and members of his family. This comes after Ekweremadu’s Apo, Abuja residence was invaded by armed men who evaded security as early as 4 a.m. this morning Nov. 6th. Ekweremadu narrated the ordeal to his colleagues at plenary on Tuesday, noting that one of the armed men was arrested.Just spoke to Senator Ike Ekweremadu. There was an attempt to assasinate him about 4am this morning. One of the assains was arrested after serious wrestling. He has been handed over to the police in Apo Police Station.
