Photos: Benue State Police arrest four kidnap suspects for selling 2-year-old child for N500,000

The Benue State Police Command has rescued a child kidnapped and sold for N500,000 and arrested four suspects. Parading the suspects before newsmen at the olive headquarters in Makurdi, on Tuesday, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, DSP Moses Yamu, said following a full scale investigation order by the Benue State Commissioner of Police, CP. Ene Okon fdc on the report of a missing child Bemdoo Ajekwe Aged 2 years and 6 months on October 10, at North Bank area of Makurdi, one Joy Onyeabor, 32, and Lucy Doosur, 29, were arrested during investigation. The suspects both confessed that the said child was on that faithful day in company of his older brother who is about 7 years old when they lured the older child with the sum of #50 to help them buy bread across the road leaving the younger child in their care before they whisked him to faraway Aba in Abia State.   They stated that they sold the child to one Unwa Chibueze and Elizabeth whose surname is unknown at the cost of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (#500,000).Further investigation led to the arrest of other members of the syndicate namely; Sunday Udoh 26, and Friday Orinya, 33, all of North Bank, Makurdi who actively participated in the crime. Police detectives extended investigation to Aba in Abia state, recovered and rescued the child Bemdoo Ajekwe on October 23.The child has since been reunited to the family while investigation continues with a view to arrest other fleeing members of the syndicate."The Command would continue to ensure that no stone is left unturned in ridding the state of crime and criminals" said the PPRO. The post Photos: Benue State Police arrest four kidnap suspects for selling 2-year-old child for N500,000 appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
