The Nigerian Army has distanced itself from the recent video of a soldier complaining about the lack of weapons to fight Boko Haram. In a video shared by Reno Omokri on twitter, a group of Nigerian soldiers were seeing leaving their stations. The soldier who made the video said they were heading home to celebrate the New Year with them as they cannot continue to risk their lives. Reacting to the video, the Nigerian Army says the video is not a reflect of the true state of soldiers prosecuting the war against Boko Haram. This is not true, as the video was recorded in 2014 and therefore cannot be a true reflection of the present reality.
