A Nigerian writer, Hauwa Sam Mohammed, who is from the Northern part of Nigeria, has done a thread about the ills of child marriage in the region and how men see women and the institution called marriage. Hauwa in her tweets, opined that men in the region think they are doing women a favour when they marry them and that most people now see marriage as a gift a man gives to a woman.
