The 1989/94 set of the Mayflower Old Students Association, Ikenne, Ogun State, hold their 25th Post-Graduation anniversary from 25th – 27th January 2019. The major highlight of this epic occasion would be that today, Saturday, 26th of January 2019, the Class Set tagged as ‘Ex-Mays 89/94’ would be donating an Ultramodern Clinic to their Alma Mater, in celebration of their Silver Jubilee anniversary, having graduated from Mayflower Secondary School some 25 years ago. Barrister Sumbo Sogunle-Muniru, revealed that the Set Project, the Ultramodern Clinic was donated to the school in the quest of the Class Set to pass down a befitting legacy that would solve niggling health-related issues as faced by the School, especially as the School Dispensary had long been in a pathetic state and was nothing to write home about. With the project being completed she asserted other celebrating Class Sets would derive due inspiration, as usual, to pass outstanding legacies of their own to the Alma Mater. Mr. Wale Abdul, the Chairman of the Project Committee said the donation of the Ultramodern Clinic was a commitment made possible by setmates who had always been passionate about their alma mater, having at the back of their minds the enduring philosophies of their Mentor and Proprietor, Uncle Tai Solarin. Wale Abdul further remarked that the Class Set had always proven itself to be one of the most vibrant class sets in Mayflower Alumni history, with the Class Set ever willing to do even much more. Speaking on other activities lined up for the anniversary, the Class Set President, Barrister SumboSogunle-Muniru said, “To mark this epic occasion of our Silver Jubilee Anniversary, we have an interesting line-up of events that will ensure our Silver Jubilee Homecoming is memorable. The programme would include and are not limited to Recitation Challenge amongst Students, Commissioning of the Set Project and presentation of awards to deserving teachers and class set members. It promises to be one of the most notable and eye-catching events ever held in the history of Mayflower School, Ikenne and in extension, of the entire Ogun State.
