Brett Kavanaugh has been confirmed as the next U.S. Supreme Court judge with a narrow Senate approval today. With his victory, the court will return from eight to nine this week. Immediately, President Trump thanked the lawmakers for giving him his second Supreme Court pick in two years with a tweet that reads, 'I applaud and congratulate the U.S. Senate for confirming our GREAT NOMINEE, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, to the United States Supreme Court. Later today, I will sign his Commission of Appointment, and he will be officially sworn in. Very exciting!' The final tally of votes was 50-48-1.
