The National Judicial Council has given Justice Walter Onnoghen and the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Mohammed (CFR), seven days to respond to petitions written against them. The NJC gave the ultimatum today after an emergency meeting which took place in Abuja. The body referred petition written against Danladi Umar, the Code of Conduct Tribunal chairman, to the Federal Judicial Service Commission (FJSC).
