Actress Queeneth Agbor speaks to Punch's 'Nonye Ben-Nwankwo on her style and fashion and more:
How did your acting come about?
I have always had the flare for acting. In my secondary school, there was no drama without me. In church, I was always part of every drama that was presented. But I didn’t like arts courses. I was science inclined, so I had to do a science course when I got into the uni. I was actually studying Medicine at the Madonna University but I had to move to University of Calabar because Medicine wasn’t accredited at Madonna University then. So I studied Microbiology in UNICAL.
Some ladies enjoy showing off cleavage, are you among those who love showing off a bit boobs?

No. I wear clothes that suit me. You might buy a top that you like and you wear it and you find out that the top is revealing. I have large boobs and any time I wear a top, my cleavage must show because of the size of my breast. I don’t go out of my way to buy tops so that I would show off my cleavage.
Do you see your boobs as assets or are they a burden?
My boobs can never be a burden. If you see any part of your body as a burden, then that means you are questioning God. Every part of my body is perfect, including my boobs. I love all parts. I am proud of how I look.
But would you have wished for a bigger backside?
I used to wish my backside was bigger but I no longer do that. If you crave for a big bum, there are so many exercises that could help you achieve that. You can get big bum if you go to the gym. By the time you do some exercises religiously, the thing will come out. The only thing you may not be able to change is your height. But then, if you want to be tall, there are so many high heel shoes, you go for them. If you want to be short, then you wear flats.Do you see your boobs as assets or are they a burden?

Were you involved in acting when you were in UNICAL?
No, I didn’t want to combine the two. I didn’t want anything that would distract me from my studies. I wasn’t any part of any audition. Even when Nollywood people would come to Calabar and ask people to come for auditions, I never went. I concentrated more on my academics because I didn’t want any distraction. But then, one day, I escorted somebody to an audition and I was asked to audition. I refused. After some time, I did it and people were stunned. They asked me why I wasn’t acting yet and I told them I wasn’t ready yet.
So when did you get into acting?
When I graduated from school, I had to get into it because people were just pressurising me to become an actress. Even my former boyfriend’s mother asked me why I was wasting my time instead of getting into the movie industry. I had to come to Lagos eventually where I had to do a three-month acting course and that was how I started.
So the Microbiology you studied will just be a certificate alone?
Well… For now, it might be like that. But in future, I can’t really say. When or rather, if I retire from acting, then I can dust my certificate and do something with it.
So, how has it been all this while?
It has been God all the way and it has been good. You can only try as human and God will do the rest. I am happy doing what I love. I can remember when my grandmother saw a movie poster that had my picture boldly on it; she actually said I was at the right place I ought to be. She was happy I was in the industry. Initially, they had thought I would be a lawyer in my family because I always loved to argue. So some of them felt I would be a lawyer and others felt I would be an actress. They were all shocked when I went in for a science course in school.
Has stardom changed your personality?
I still have people who keep me humble. My family still keep me humble. I also have old friends who also keep me on my toes. They don’t see me as a star. When I am with them, I am always humble. And when I have such people surround me, I don’t allow stardom to get to my head. It is when you stay with fake people, that is when you will live a fake life and you will allow stardom to change who you are and you will end up becoming stupid. I still have people who keep me grounded. I am still myself.
You dress well as an actress, do you do so because of your career or you like looking good?
As a lady, you just have to look good. A reasonable lady should be mindful of what she wears and how she looks. But then, when you are in the spotlight, you have to put in extra effort to look extra good because you already have people who are looking up to you, people who see you as their role model. There are places you can just decide to go and you wear normal denims and slippers and look so casual. But you may never know who you would bump into and the person would recognise you and be disappointed with what you are wearing. You just have to be cautious when you dress because all eyes are on you and people are looking at you. You need to up your game and look good at all times.
What does your boyfriend love seeing you wear?
He likes me looking good and decent. He doesn’t like me exposing my body. He tells me I can still look decent and very classy instead of exposing my body.
