This is a press release by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency-LASEMA
An accident occurred today 14/8/16 around 6.10 pm on the 3rd Mainland bridge inward Iyana Oworo by UNILAG Water front. It involved 3 vehicles which includes a Lag bus, Hilux truck belonging to a local vigilantee group and a Rover jeep.
Five persons were confirmed dead, three female adult two children, one female and one male. Five persons were also injured and were taken by LASAMBUS to the Truma Centre.
Agencies on ground includes LASTMA, FRSC, Nigerian Police, RRS. The LASEMA Response Unit recovered the accidented vehicles, while the dead bodies has been taken by SEHMU to Mainland Hospital Mortuary.
The LASEMA General Manager Mr. Michael Akindele said proper investigation would be carried out on cause the accident by the relevant Government Agencies, he however advised motorists to prevent over speeding and also adhere to all traffic rules and regulation to avoid incident such as this.
